Mambulawan Festival is a cultural and religious festival in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte, Philippines every October 7. It is held as a way to unify the community, promote the local economy, and honor of the feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.
Mambulao was the old name of the municipality of Jose Panganiban and this is used as the inspiration of the festival. The word itself means gold. The town has rich deposit of gold that is mined up to this day.
The town was renamed after Jose Maria Panganiban y Enverga, a Bicolano hero on December 1, 1934.
The town’s titular is Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.
Mambulawan Festival Activities
The calendar spans from September 26 to October 7. Its activities include sports, activities, Barangay Night Grand Fiesta Ball, street dancing, Elderly Week Celebration, the fisher folk congress and symposium, martial arts, boat race (Bangkarera), sports fest, entertainment such as Artista Night, Farmer’s Day, fluvial procession, and foot procession.
